Climbing Club
Youth climbing club is a great way for kids to experience and learn about indoor rock climbing right here in Grand Forks. Sessions throughout the year will be announced below. Be warned - most of our participants get hooked! Already 'graduated' from climbing club? Maybe you're ready for climbing team!

Winter/Spring 2014 Information.
Options: We offer two options per session
- beginner climbers: those new to club, those still working on levels 1-8 and/or those who are more interested in just having fun.
- 'aspiring climbers': open to those who have at least passed levels 1-8 and are want to work a bit harder with aspirations of joining climbing team.
Both options will involve 1 hour of climibing and instruction, but the 'aspiring climber' option will be significantly more rigorous.
First Session: Tuesdays, Jan. 21st - Feb. 18th (5 week session)
Second Session: Tuesdays, Mar. 4th - Apr. 1st (5 week session)
Cost is $60 for a five week session and includes the use of a harness. Add $10 if you're going to want to use climbing shoes when you climb. There is also the option of purchasing a reduced cost 4 month full gym membership (Jan-Apr) for an additional $100 when you sign up.
Location: Northern Heights Rock Gym, Grand Cities Mall, Grand Forks, ND.
Age range*: 7 - 15.
Capped at 16 participants per session.
About the Climbing Club
- We aim for a 2 to 1 climber/instructor ratio
- We offer three sections based on prior experience
- Sessions involve games and warm up activities and individual climbing
- Certificates of achievement for all participants.
*Is your child younger than 7 but you think they are ready for climbing? Contact us via email and we'll determine whether your younger child can be part of club or which session will best support your youth.
All climbers need to have a waiver completed and signed by a parent or guardian. These are available at NHRG or can be downloaded here.
